Award Criteria Judges acknowledged the challenge and the courage required to reinvent or create a product in line with sustainability considerations relevant to the future, while maintaining brand values and consolidating the past. Mindful of the quite specific criteria here, the Judges were impressed by the magnitude of the effort made and the resultant ease with which consumers can make behavioural change.

This win demonstrates a significant and courageous advance created by the packaging. Omo and Surf Small & Mighty have redefined an entire sector. Removing all existing large plastic containers and replacing them in one strike with a totally different solution has not only changed the category and its presentation, but the achievement in terms of sustainability is truly impressive. The redesigned Omo Small & Mighty has produced a staggering 82 tonne saving in plastics usage per annum, 32 tonnes less material in landfill, and environmental savings from materials use, manufacturing, transport, and recycling. Finally, this pack encourages responsible environmental behaviour by the consumer, and makes their change to greener alternatives effortless.
