“Affogato”, meaning ‘drowned’ in Italian, is a perfect and complete solution to this cartonboard brief. Stemming from a scoop of ice-cream poured with a shot of espresso over the top, this package successfully targets ice-cream consumers within the premium target market. It has instant shelf appeal, exhibits a simple construction and has well thought out justifications for typography, colours and texture choices. The rectangular shape of the secondary pack allows for easy display, storing and creates a point of difference to current competitors. The primary package takes on the shape of a latte glass. Yuki’s aim is to encourage consumers to empty the product into a glass. A practical, attractive and creative design!
